NOTICe’s Statement on the Power Plant

Based on input from NOTICe members and neighbors in OTN and information from Mayor Gaskins at our May 13 Spring Party, the Board focused its position on the Power Plant Redevelopment.

 On May 18, NOTICe Board adopted the attached Position Statement on PRGS Redevelopment urging the city to demolish and clean the power plant site first to highest standard  - prioritizing environment,health and safety; make sure residents are at the table on matters affecting our daily lives (dust, hazmat trucks, parking, noise) and ensure all Alexandria, including OTN, get the community benefits expected - arts, affordability and park land

We appreciate your attending NOTICe meetings and events and value your time and support for civic improvements in OTN. We are becoming the best place to live, work and play in Alexandria - the power plant site is our unfinished business in the north end of the neighborhood. We should not leave this contaminated legacy to another generation. 

 We encourage you to share NOTICe Statement on PRGS with your neighbors and others in the City. And urge you to let city officials know you support NOTICe position and share your opinion.
